Accommodations and Travel

Given the centralized structure in Cuba, the Cuban Tourism Agency authorizes and negotiates all conferences in Cuba. Accordingly, the setup for the conference is slightly different from our "regular" academic conferences. On behalf of the AMA Global Marketing SIG, Cuba Educational Travel has negotiated with the Cuban Tourism Agency to organize the event.

The Cuban Tourism Agency is offering a "most-things-included" conference experience. Thus, please note that the prices listed below include both what would normally be separated as the "conference registration fee" and the "hotel fee." It is a bundled package and the Cuban Tourism Agency does not itemize the parts. If you wish to extend your stay in Cuba before or after the conference, you must, unfortunately, make a separate reservation for this part of your trip. The total conference package includes:

  1. Three (check in April 6) or four (check in April 5) nights of lodging accommodations (check out Sunday, April 9, 2017)

  2. Daily breakfast

  3. Lunch on the conference days

  4. Opening reception

  5. Closing dinner

  6. Coffee breaks

  7. Meeting facilities

  8. Pre-trip departure information

  9. Cuban insurance (health and evacuation)

  10. Compliance with US Treasury regulations

The COMPANION option means that you are bringing a companion (e.g. spouse) that will be staying with you in your room and the price includes both people. The companion will not be attending the academic conference sessions, but will have access to the social sessions. Further, a special cultural program has been developed for all companions.

SINGLE occupancy means that you will be staying by yourself in a room.

DOUBLE occupancy means that you will be sharing the room with another conference participant, who will be registering independently. You can request to room with a friend or you will be assigned a roommate of the same gender.
